The bigger South Woodford briefs
South Woodford is at the eastern edge of our local zone, just before the suburbs proper start. The housing is dominated by Edwardian semi-detached houses with generous proportions and a few pockets of inter-war detached. Briefs here lean larger than the rest of East London — clients often consolidate a year or two of joinery wishlist into a single project.
Master-bedroom wardrobe runs. South Woodford Edwardian master bedrooms are typically 4–5m wide with 2.8m ceilings, plus a separate dressing room or large landing area in many houses. The brief is usually a substantial wardrobe wall + mixed interior + sometimes a dedicated dressing-room conversion if there’s a smaller bedroom adjacent.
Hallway and under-stairs storage. South Woodford houses have generous entrance halls — often 3-4m deep from front door to interior — with a substantial under-stairs cavity. We build combined run-and-undercroft storage in these halls, sometimes as the only joinery project, sometimes as the warm-up for a larger room project later.
