The problem
The lounge wall the client wanted the TV on had four awkward services running across it — power, antenna, data and a surround-sound pre-wire — none of which were in the right places. Off-the-shelf furniture would have left a tangle of cables behind the screen and forced the TV into a position that didn't centre on the seating.
The solution
A full-height cabinet system with a 100mm double-partition behind the TV section. All cables now route vertically inside the partition; the AV stack sits in shaker-fronted base cabinets either side. Shadow gaps between cabinet sections give the wall vertical rhythm. The TV mounts flush with the cabinet face for a single coherent surface.
Materials & finish
18mm Egger MFC carcass in U999 black (hidden faces); 22mm MDF shaker doors hand-painted in Farrow & Ball Down Pipe (No. 26); 12V warm-white LED strip behind floating shelves on its own dimmer; Blum push-to-open catches on lower doors; AV inspection panel hidden in the kick-board.
Outcome
All five AV services accessible without dismantling anything, TV centred on the seating position rather than the existing socket position, and the wall now reads as the room's anchor rather than as competing with the chimney breast opposite.

This bespoke fully integrated media wall was designed for a client renovating their Wanstead lounge. The goal was a clean media space with hidden cable management and presence enough to anchor the room. We built a 100mm double-partition behind the TV that routes every service vertically, with shaker doors in Farrow & Ball Down Pipe hiding the AV stack either side.
