The problem
The bedroom is narrow (3.1m wall-to-wall) and the bed sits less than a metre from where the wardrobes had to go — hinged doors would have blocked walking access between bed and wardrobe. The client also wanted a full-length mirror but didn't have a free wall to mount one.
The solution
A three-panel sliding system spanning the full 3.6m wall. The two outer panels are painted shaker; the centre panel is a single sheet of bevelled mirror that doubles as the dressing mirror. Top-hung track for a cleaner look at floor level. Interior split into three zones — hanging, drawers and a trouser pull-out — with internal LED strip behind the mirror's mounting timber.
Materials & finish
Häfele Slido D-Line top-hung track system; 22mm MDF shaker outer doors in Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone (No. 241); 6mm bevelled silver mirror on aluminium-backed centre panel; Blum TANDEM drawer runners; integrated 12V LED strip on a motion sensor.
Outcome
1.7m³ of clothing storage and a full-length mirror in a room with no spare wall for either. Bed access stayed clear; the bedroom looks larger than it is because of the mirror.

Sliding doors with a mirrored centre panel for a narrow Wanstead Park master bedroom. Top-hung track, three interior zones, and a mirror that doubles as the only full-length mirror in the room.
